This from powerlifter and cancer survivor Matt Kroczaleski. 175 lbs for 33 reps, no straps.
"And in those simple beautiful movements I remembered what was really important in training; that consistency trumps intensity; all the time. That intensity is born from consistency. That one cannot force it, one has to lay in wait for it, patiently, instinctively, calmly and be ready to grab it when Grace lays it down in front of you."

Crazy strong!!
Oh my lord he's snarling at the end, that's awesome!
Is this the level of what Sandow, Saxon, Hackenschmidt were in the past?
Just unbelievable.
takei,
I'm not sure those guys focused on these types of reps but they probably could have had they wanted to.yes, unbeleivable.
Matt has superhuman willpower and drive. I've known him for over ten years now, and each year he's gotten better.
Few people seem to know that he competed at the highest levels of drug-free competition in the USAPL before his bout with testicular cancer.
Even fewer know that he got out of the Marine Corps, decided to be a pharmacist, took his prereqs then moved his entire family off to the University so he could get his pharmacy degree, all the while competing at these high levels.
That's family, school, and powerlifting all balanced.
Plus, he's a great guy. Always has a good word for everyone. His phenomenal attitude is contagious.
wow Shaf, great story and even more impressive guy. saw his pic in plusa at the WPO squatting huge without wraps. insane.hope to keep seeing him go big.
