The SEAL Quest ~ Ultimate BUD/S Preparation

The SEAL Quest ~ Ultimate BUD/S Preparation

Great site and well worth revisiting. One thing I realized I missed the first time is the importance of NOT rolling through painful areas as this activates the muscle spindles keeping the muscle tight and therefore painful. Youa re to stop and hold at the painful site untill it dissipates 75% or so.This causes a GTO inhibition and decreases tension, which is what I'm after, after all. Really well done guide and the foam roller is a constant companion to me, along with my thumper.

OK, Rif, someone's gotta post it somewhere, so it may as well be me.

(Cue movie preview voice...) Imagine a world with no need for the foam roller...A world where muscle tension is almost instantly and instantaneously vaporized in only 3 reps...A world where constant daily pulling and stretching and rolling on tight muscles no longer exists...Enter the world of Z-Health!

All jesting aside, I haven't used SMR since April. I no longer do "postural" work. I no longer stretch. Ever. I train my body to what I want it to adapt to. This month, for the first time in 17 years, my right knee has not only been pain free, but discomfort free as well. Squatting, lunging, stepping...it's all pain free. Plus, no more hip pain. On the off chance that I do get some knee/hip discomfort, I perform a couple of Z mobility drills and within seconds, yes, seconds, it's gone.

I'm not joking, I'm not kidding around. This isn't something that "worked for me." The R-Phase alone has worked for 75% of our clients: shoulder pain, back pain, knee pain--gone in one session. As long as they perform the drills, it doesn't come back. For the rest, I-Phase does the trick. How's 5 minutes a day sound compared to 20+ minutes of foam roller, stretching, and Rifga just so you don't lock up the next morning trying to get out of bed? Imagine, no more "activation drills." The Z is the activation drill, the flexibility work, the dynamic joint mobility. Plus, it's not just joint mobility, it's a complete strength training system.

How can I describe the difference? Imagine eating only the lowest grade ground beef and liking it. Then someone turns you on to flank steak. Mmmm...yum! What a step up! Now I'm trying to describe Filet Mignon to you, but you've never seen it, but you might of heard of it. Rif, it MELTS in your mouth. You barely have to put any pressue on it to cut it with your knife--you can use your butter knife. Not only does it taste GREAT, but it is a higher quality cut of meat with less fat than your flank steak. Z-Health is filet mignon. Once you get into it, you'll never go back.

I like Filet...A LOT.

You know, Rif, I thought it was too good to be true too. My friend Josh Henkin was trying to get me to try it for 2 years before I got involved in it. It was only the fact that accupunture, accupuncture w/electrical stimulation, accupressure, ART, SMR, massage, chiropractic, various types of stretching, and coritizone DIDN'T work for my hips. In fact, many of the above-mentioned made them worse, and therefore opened my mind to trying something else.

We believe so much in the Z-Health system, that by the end of 2006, we'll be the first company not only in the US, but the world to have all their trainers Z-certified.

Here's the weird part, once you take the R-Phase cert, which by the way we're hosting in October at our place, if you'd like to register, none of what you learn will really be new to you. It's stuff you've read and currently know, just framed and presented differently, scientifically, correctly. It's very intuitive. You'll smack yourself on the forehead and wish you'd done it sooner. I know I did.

Call me if you want to know more.
