Art De Vany
Great post by Art Devany and Mark Sisson on the fragility and overspecialization of the elite athlete.
"And in those simple beautiful movements I remembered what was really important in training; that consistency trumps intensity; all the time. That intensity is born from consistency. That one cannot force it, one has to lay in wait for it, patiently, instinctively, calmly and be ready to grab it when Grace lays it down in front of you."

Good stuff Mark, I posted this in several forums. Important knowledge. Sisson's background is impressive as well.
saw that. used to know and ride with sisson briefly back in the eighties when I was riding competitively.nice guy and obviously bright.
Thanks for posting that link Rif. I'v been saying that for a long time, that too much volume is a real negative. I am coaching a couple of competitive cyclists and they are doing very well on a less volume/ higher quality program. There is a mindset amongst enduros especially that more is better, but isn't more just more and better (e.g. quality)training two different things? really makes a person appreciate the RKC system of training, I mean "practice";).
