Rif, I have read Mr. Gibbens' stuff pretty extensively and have even had some e-mail correspondance with him. Interestingly, his approach to coaching enduros and mine are not too dissimilar, it has been nice to exchange ideas and to think about certain training methods in a different way.
Thanks for posting the link, I'm sure a lot of people would be interested in reading his works.

have to re read it in more detail but it certainly rang true to me.reminds me very much of my approach when I was training for 10k and marathons.I figured if the best were running 100 miles a week it should make be better by default if I can do that mileage too.It definitely worked too.
Goes to how I quantify my workouts to this day.
