"RKC is a Hard Style of training born in the special ops of the Soviet Union. Hard Style chooses power over efficiency, and chooses the techniques proven the most effective for max force applications. We employ max acceleration in the quick lifts and max tension in the slow lifts.... "
Pavel
some have been confused about this. I hope this clears it up.
"And in those simple beautiful movements I remembered what was really important in training; that consistency trumps intensity; all the time. That intensity is born from consistency. That one cannot force it, one has to lay in wait for it, patiently, instinctively, calmly and be ready to grab it when Grace lays it down in front of you."

Clear and most people only being exposed through the internet (a one dimensional form of communication) do not understand the depth of the RKC system and only hear "tension" etc... not the proper application of relaxation, stretching, and tension to maximize performance.
Great teaching with you this weekend Rif!
same here brett, you did a hell of a job on Friday. Not easy at all.And you are so right about the depth of the system. I think most are amazed after going through the weekend just how much info they get. The manual just keeps getting better and better.
Hey Rif,
where does the section you qouted come from? Doesn't appear to be in my manual from May.
Rannoch
that is a great quote from Pavel. The RKC system is the best system out their in my oppinion - and so much more involved than people could ever imagine!
It should be somewhere right in the beginning, Rannoch - like first or introductory chapter (I don't have it in front of me at the moment). I was there in April this year and mine has it.
Also, it says; "It came out of the Soviet Special Forces"
It says it borrows a lot of principles from Karate as well.
Good to see you again, Rif!
Nice to meet you Brett!
rannoch,
it came from the manual section entitled "what is RKC" when did you cert?
duh, may. did you go in denmark? perhaps the manual is different?
jr,
you really have no life do you? Glad to know you are pouring over my posts with a fine tooth comb. will your buddies over at garm not play with you anymore?
btw jr, what is the addy of your blog, I am very interested in reading your inner most thoughts and observations about training and the world?
Can I get an Amen?!? :)
sorry I wasnt more careful with my spelling and grammar jr and yes this is a public blog but I can also delete your stuff if I want.
I don't owe you anything so don't get confused.
I havent had any problem with people taking me seriously who read my blog if I have a spelling error or two. People get my drift. Its not like any kind of nuance can come across on the internet anyway. One must extrapolate meaning.
And for someone who is not a professional trainer( which is obvious) you sure have a lot to say about and very little time to listen to those that are professionals.
I dont have enough time to waste on you jr so drop the antagonistic 'trying to catch me in a mistake' tone or I just won't respond to you or ban you.
and yes the quote is correct.
This thread started out great, and then sucked, and then got good again.
Boring and Dumb, if the meaning or intent of an internet message is lost on you because of a minor mistake in spelling or a typo, then you are the one who is illiterate.
Wow. That was powerful.
jr,
I don't care if you 'win'because I dont care what you think.I know what I know and your understanding or acceptance of it changes it naught for me.
my life is rocking right now, from my business to my training to my teaching at the rkc, things are great and I'm surrounded my postive, enthusiatic people. I dont need or care about your BAD energy.
Rif,
Great working with you brother over the weekend!
There are people in the world that I call Balcony critics, such as the two old men from the Muppet Show. They can't be taken seriously.
Pete
