Mike Castro accomodates resistance with jumpstretch bands and a Bulldog. This is gret for the power squat and deadlift and for anyone who wants to get faster, stronger or more explosive.
"And in those simple beautiful movements I remembered what was really important in training; that consistency trumps intensity; all the time. That intensity is born from consistency. That one cannot force it, one has to lay in wait for it, patiently, instinctively, calmly and be ready to grab it when Grace lays it down in front of you."

Mark I am so glad you posted a video of band work with a kb... I was wondering what it looks like!
Mark, that just rocks.
I have just gotten my jumpstretches a few weeks ago, and use them for almost every exercise.
assistance in one arm pullups, resistance in pullups for building strength in the upper part. Hope for some transfer to the ring muscleups.
Finally it is great for adding resistance to the one arm pushups..

Tom posted a really damned cool article on bands on his blog too.
I think I just might dedicate one day to band swings. they do get the speed up there!
Wow! That's tough stuff. I may have to give that a try. Thanks for posting it
fawn,
glad you likeit. its much easier to explain this way, lol.
guarden.
get ready for one BIG downswing!lots of power there.plus it really illustrates just how a fast downswing contributes to a strong upswing.
royce,
if you like two handed swings you will LOVE this. way tough.no rest anywhere on this move.
Can you show of how you wrap the band on the KB?
Check the new post David.
its a ton of upper body work too; as it takes so much force to try to keep the bell accelerating that the shoulders and upper back get one hell of a workout as well as the hips and glutes.this is compensatory acceleration at its best.plus you get pulled into the hole way hard. lots of fun.
Fantastic Workout, fantastic loading, fantastic force production.
Holy speed work!
rolando,
speed strength and power. hardstyle all the way! The cool thing is that it transfers to the no-band swing as well; really teaches you to hike pass the bell behind you really loading the hips and setting up the next rep.
