Training the WIll

Ah, another fun day. Part of the problem with squaring up a body that has been torqued for most of its life is that new things , that havent been loaded in years, start to talk to you. My left glute and SI are saying hello unless I can get on the floor and stretch out these hamstrings pretty often.that can be sometimes 'inconvenient'. Standing for most of the day at work doesnt help either.

Clean and Press
36x5/5x2
44x5/5
53x5/5
62x2/2
72x2/2x3
62x3/3
62x4/4

38 reps above the 20 kg.

It didnt SEEM like that many presses but it looks like alot. the presses were ok today but my cleans were out in front a bit. running late and in a hurry to get going. never a good trainng mindset. Got to baptize Geoffs 28 kg today. works great! thanks again man, that was way cool.

two hand swings
53x20
62x20
72x12
88x8
88x8
72x12
62x15
53x20
62x15
72x10
88x10

total= 150

thats a shit load of heavy swings.

Farmers walk with 2 44's/suticase carry
100 feet
150 feet
150 feet
150 feet
100 feet/

these were three laps and the third one hurt. This really helps my gait more than any other thing.kicks my ass though for the longer sets even with light weight. this was tough and I realized that the key component I was training today was my will power. I did not want to do this workout but I kept pushing through, focusing on the state of my will, not my energy. Much better. My Will, thats what got trained today.

Nice job on the swings and presses....the training of the 'will' worked! Sometimes the ones you do not want to do are the better ones :-)

thanks man. we can put mondays at Stones back on the schedule if you want.time for me to de load a bit though. I;ve been going heavy heavy and heavier.the presses were tough.

the swings were good though, switching loads like that was interesting.

I see an article in all of this.

"training the will" or " Are you"will-ing" to Train?

SI and Glute pain huh? hamstrings stretches - good idea. Look at possible trigger points in Glute Med, Piriformis, QLO, Sacral ligaments.

Nice to see you putting that 62 to good use.

Yeah, it's weird--just when you think you got one thing fixed, another "problem" rears its head, huh?

yes franz, good idea, although I'owe"pavel three articles already. I will keep it on the list.and yes alll those trigger points get their fair share of work but I find if I release the hammie they all fall in line.

155 x 3 x 5, 160 x 3 x 5, 20 kg swings 5 x 8/8, floor pushups 40, 35

Thought about going back to 5x5 for a hot second then my left shoulder  reminded me why I stopped doing them before. It doesn't seem to...
