"And in those simple beautiful movements I remembered what was really important in training; that consistency trumps intensity; all the time. That intensity is born from consistency. That one cannot force it, one has to lay in wait for it, patiently, instinctively, calmly and be ready to grab it when Grace lays it down in front of you."

Dude, how freakin sweet are KB's for practicing that event.
And yeah, the russian throwing contests and that event are pure hardstyle. Very cool man.
I just wish I knew about kbs when I had my gym and big chiefjim mcgoldrick, the highland games champ and I were training together and hanging out. He would have loved them. then he turned into the little chief and became a rower.bummer.
LOL, Jim Mcgoldrick. Dude I really envy you sometimes.
I was in Braemar last July one saturday at the start of a week's hillwalking. We got there later in the day and ended up watching the Junior Highland Games instead of hitting the hills. It was good watching the "weight for height" - the guy that won was not a big heavy lad - they were struggling - but a real athletic looking guy who could swing well.
Tossing the caber is a similar motion.
royce, yes, I've had some very interesting athletic friends over the years. I have been blessed with that.
chris
you are right the guys with technique will always do better than just the big guys. BUT put together big with technique and you have a champ.
